Emergency Boiler Repair

Boiler Breakdown Repairs for Gas, Oil and Electric Systems

When a boiler stops, the house cools quickly and the hot water runs out soon after. We answer breakdown calls 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and repair gas, oil and electric boilers in homes and businesses across Cambridgeshire, Essex and Suffolk. We find the actual fault before replacing anything, so you pay for the repair the boiler needs rather than a run of guessed parts.

Common faults include a boiler locking out, losing pressure, refusing to fire, banging or whistling, or heating the radiators while the taps run cold. Some faults come down to a single failed component; others point to a wider problem in the system. We explain what we have found, quote before any work starts and only go ahead once you agree. If you can, send photos of the boiler and its display by WhatsApp so we can prepare.

Electric and Oil Boiler Repairs and Urgent Servicing

Electric and oil-fired boilers fail in their own ways, and a system running badly may need urgent servicing rather than a repair.

What Affects the Cost of a Boiler Repair

We quote before any work starts, and the price depends on a few things.

  • The fuel type, make and age of the boiler.
  • Which component has failed and whether the part is readily available.
  • Whether the fault is in the boiler itself or elsewhere in the heating system.
  • Access to the boiler, for example in a loft or a tight cupboard.
  • When the call-out takes place, including nights, weekends and bank holidays.

The work

How We Repair a Broken-Down Boiler

The main stages of the job, from finding the fault to the final check.

  1. Your Call and Photos

Tell us the make, the fuel type and any error code on the display. Photos sent by WhatsApp help us prepare for the likely fault.

  2. Making Safe and Testing

On arrival we make the boiler safe, then test the controls, pressure, ignition and components to find the cause.

  3. Agreed Repair

We explain the fault and the fix, you agree the price, and we replace or repair the failed part.

  4. Back in Service

We run the heating and hot water through a full cycle, then review the completed work with you and confirm everything has been done as agreed.

FAQs

Emergency Boiler Repair Questions

Should I try resetting my boiler before calling?

One reset is reasonable if the manual allows it. If the boiler locks out again, stop resetting it and call us, because repeated lockouts usually point to a fault that needs diagnosing. If you smell gas, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 first.

My boiler has lost pressure. Is that an emergency?

Low pressure stops many boilers from firing. If topping up with the filling loop restores it and the pressure holds, the boiler may run normally. If it keeps dropping, there is likely a leak or a failed valve, and we can trace and repair it.

Do you repair oil and electric boilers as well as gas?

Yes, all three. The checks differ by fuel type: on an oil boiler we look at the burner and the fuel supply, while on an electric boiler we test the elements, switching components and controls.

Can you fix my boiler on the first visit?

Many faults can be repaired on the first visit. If a part has to be ordered, we make the system safe and explain what happens next, so you know where things stand before we leave.

Is it worth repairing an old boiler?

Often it is. If the repair would cost a large share of a new boiler, or parts for the model are no longer made, we tell you so you can weigh up repair against replacement.
