Bathroom Plumbing

Plumbing for New Bathrooms and Renovations

A bathroom renovation depends on the pipework behind it. Emergency Local Plumbers carries out the plumbing side of bathroom projects: running new hot and cold supplies and waste pipes, repositioning where a bath, shower or toilet sits, and connecting the new sanitaryware once it is in place. We can work alongside your bathroom fitter or builder, so the plumbing is ready when each stage of the room needs it.

We also repair faults in existing bathrooms: a shower with weak or fluctuating flow, a bath or basin that drains slowly at the trap, a toilet that will not stop running or a leaking waste connection under the floor. Because hot water feeds every bathroom, we check that your boiler or cylinder can supply what a new shower or bath will demand before anything is fitted.

What Affects the Cost of Bathroom Plumbing

Bathroom plumbing ranges from a single repair to a full refit, so the cost depends on:

  • Whether fittings stay in their current positions or are being moved.
  • The amount of new supply and waste pipework required.
  • The type of shower and whether your hot water system needs changes to support it.
  • How much floor and wall access is available while the room is stripped out.
  • The number of baths, basins, toilets and showers to connect.

The work

How We Plumb a Bathroom

The main stages of the job, from finding the fault to the final check.

  1. Planning the Layout

We look at where each fitting will go, how the supply and waste will reach it and what your hot water system can deliver.

  2. Agreeing the Quote

You receive a clear price for the plumbing and agree it before we begin.

  3. First and Second Fix

We run the pipework while walls and floors are open, then connect the sanitaryware once it has been fitted.

  4. Testing and Handover

We test every supply and waste for leaks, then review the completed work with you and confirm everything has been done as agreed.

FAQs

Bathroom Plumbing Questions

Can you work with my bathroom fitter?

Yes. We can carry out the plumbing while your fitter or builder handles the rest of the room, and we agree with you when each stage of pipework needs to be ready.

Can you move my toilet to a different position?

Often, yes. A toilet needs a waste route with enough fall to reach the soil pipe, so we check whether the new position allows that before quoting.

Why is my shower pressure so low?

Common causes are a partly closed valve, a shower head clogged with limescale (common where water is hard), a blocked valve filter, undersized pipework or the limits of your hot water system. We find the cause before recommending a fix.

Why does my bath drain slowly?

Hair and soap build up in the trap and waste, slowing the flow. Clearing or replacing the trap usually solves it, and if the problem is further down the pipe, our drainage services can help.

Will my boiler cope with a new shower?

It depends on your boiler or cylinder and the shower you choose. We check what your system can supply at the planning stage, so you know before buying whether any changes are needed.
